in 2022, nearly 50 million Americans aged 12 or older reported having a substance use disorder (SUD) within the past year, more than a 20% increase from 2020. This is one of the many reasons why the Elevance Health Foundation - the philanthropic arm of Elevance Health - has made a commitment to advancing health equity for those with a substance use disorder. To date, the Foundation’s SUD grantees have reached nearly 350,000 individuals with treatment-related programs.
