Common questions

  • While the UK transitions to digital services, lots of customers still need or prefer to bank face to face. And easy access to cash services is essential, too.

For many communities, a Banking Hub offers a convenient, sustainable, shared solution that brings Post Office cash services and Community Bankers together in one place.

  • To find out which services your own bank offers in Banking Hubs our branches, visit our Everyday Banking page.

  • Banking Hubs typically open for the core hours of 9am – 5pm from Monday to Friday, though this may vary by location. If you’re planning on visiting one, please check its opening times using our branch finder.

  • No. While they’re operated by Post Office, Banking Hubs aren’t regular Post Office branches.

This means services like posting letters and parcels, insurance products, travel money as well as identity services like passports, aren’t available in our hubs.

If you need these services, you can search for branches near you that offer them using our branch finder.

  • Banking hubs are established by LINK who have identified need for access to cash and banking services to meet local demand, following bank branch closures in the community.

Post Office is then contracted to operate the Banking Hubs site and provide vital cash services to the local community.

  • Lots of approved locations for Banking Hubs have come about because communities requested them. If you think your local area would benefit from one too, you can request an Access to Cash review on the LINK website to get the ball rolling.

In the meantime, if you don’t live near or aren’t able to get to one of our Banking Hubs or a branch of your own bank, you can carry out a number of everyday banking tasks at any regular Post Office branch.

Visit our everyday banking page to see if your bank offers services through Post Office branches – most of the main banks and building societies do. And if you’ve any questions about the services your bank offers though us, please contact them directly.
